Rebirth--A Choice or Compulsion?

Souls can be more confused than human beings. Imagine the trauma they have to undergo by being stranded in no man’s land and without a body to carry out God’s purpose. Imagine that you, so desperately, want to be heard by people around you but they don’t see or hear you and pass right through you as if you were nothing but thin air. How would you feel? Picture your predicament! Wouldn’t you get tired and weary of your existence as a wandering soul? Don’t you think that coming back to the earth in human form would seem like a better option than roaming aimlessly for ages without a purpose?”

The effect of Yoga (asana) on our Mind and Body

I keep getting e-mails / feedback regularly from my visitors / readers seeking clarification on several issues which do come up as one progresses to the highest level of Yoga, the ‘Kundalini awakening’. I realized that most of them were somewhat confused as to the nexus between basic Yoga (Hatha Yoga) and Kundalini Yoga; they were treating both as the same which is not completely true. Hence, I thought of putting a hub together for addressing their concerns and mitigating their doubts.

Conscious Breathing….Regulate Your Breath (Part-3)

Depending on the time (sunrise / sunset) you are practicing Pranayama, one of the two nostrils usually becomes dominant and it is not advisable to change the flow of breath at any time. Under no circumstances, breath should be forced. Never breathe through mouth and always proceed with the help of expert guidance. At the slightest sign of discomfort, reduce the duration of inhalation, exhalation or ‘breath retention’

Spiritual Sex and Chakras! Want to know the nexus? (Part-9)

Speaking about the ancient times in Greece and the eastern world, there had been (probably still is) an age old tradition of a temple priestess helping the spiritual seekers with ceremonial sex. This method of transmitting and transforming sexual energy from one person to the other, was kept hidden from the eyes of common masses for a very long time as, the people would not have been able to perceive any spirituality aspect attached to the process and would have termed it as a basic ‘animal instinct’ or ‘lust’.

Energy from Chakras flows into your Aura (Part-6)

Aura signifies the energy field projecting out from the surface of a human body or an object. This projection can be seen as a colored outline surrounding the body and is also said to be a symbolic of soul vibrations, chakric emergence, or simply, a reflection of surrounding energy fields.

As we know, that it’s not just the interior but the exterior of the body as well which contains electromagnetic energies, these energy waves travel in and out of the body through Chakras into the Aura. Studies have proved that every part of the physical being to the smallest molecule or atom and in fact all that which we can perceive in third dimension, is a composite of electromagnetic energies. These energy waves emanating from the deeper levels of the body, in fact, carry signals / messages from inside the body to the outer world, in the shape of a shadowy outline termed as Aura; one just has to learn how to interpret and decode these messages.

Prepare your body before awakening the Primal Energy (Part-5)

Make your body a healthy conduit for the ‘energy’ to rise
As mentioned in my preceding hub, it is important to have the Chakras opened (Part-3) before awakening the ‘Primal energy’ (Kundalini) as otherwise all the effort involved in kindling the fire (energy) would go waste. In case all the Chakras are not open, the serpentine energy would rise from the Root Chakra and on confronting any blocked Chakra on the way, would slither down back to its source without reaching the desired destination. There are many ways to awaken Kundalini ranging from, meditation, yoga, rigorous physical exercise, (supervised) breathing exercise, devotional practices, to Karma yoga (paying attention to one’s actions/ deeds). Apart from ensuring a free passage for the Energy to rise, it is imperative to prepare the body and mind for the electrifying effect which might be created in the process. Many beginners, in an attempt to fulfill their natural desire to have the Kundalini awakened, commit a serious error of initiating the spiritual process without creating enough buffers in their bodies to sustain the gyrating effect of the energy generated. If one is not ready, it may seem like putting too much of load on an electric circuit which does not have the capacity to hold that much power; the circuit would surely fuse in such cases. Hence, it is important to make the body a healthy, balanced and resilient vehicle in order to make it a stable conduit for channelizing energy. To ensure proper physical and mental health, it is necessary to maintain a healthy diet, regular exercise, frequent cleansing practices and proper breathing exercises

Kundalini (serpentine) Shakti rises through Chakras (Part-4)

Kundalini awakening

The term ‘Kundalini’ comes from Sanskrit word ‘Kundal’ meaning coiled. Please refer to the video uploaded in Part-1. In my opinion that video is an ultimate piece of beauty and perfection on this subject. I had made a passing reference to Kundalini Shakti (Serpentine energy) in Part-1 of the Chakra series. In pursuant to the overwhelming response (more than 6000 page views in 2 days) which I received, especially for Part-3, I am hereby making a humble attempt to explain ‘Kundalini’ awakening in more detail.

No matter what religion or faith one follows, Kundalini awakening is essential for spiritual advancement and ‘self realization’. It may be termed differently in different cultures but the concept of primal energy remains the same.
